Voice Features

Chatelope includes voice features for text-to-speech (TTS) and audio transcription, making your AI conversations more accessible and convenient.

Text-to-Speech

Have AI responses read aloud with natural-sounding voices.

Enabling TTS

1. Go to Settings > Voice
2. Enable Text-to-Speech
3. Select a voice provider
4. Choose your preferred voice

Supported Providers

Using TTS

To hear a message read aloud:

• Click the speaker icon on any message
• Use keyboard shortcut P to play/pause
• Right-click > Read Aloud

Voice Settings

Configure TTS behavior:

• Speed - Adjust reading speed (0.5x - 2x)
• Auto-play - Automatically read new AI responses
• Voice - Select from available voices
• Volume - Control playback volume

Transcription

Convert speech to text for easier input.

Voice Input

1. Click the microphone icon in the chat input
2. Speak your message
3. Your speech is transcribed to text
4. Edit if needed, then send

Transcription Settings

• Language - Set your preferred language
• Auto-send - Automatically send after transcription
• Punctuation - Auto-add punctuation

Audio Messages

Send and receive audio messages in conversations.

Recording Audio

1. Click and hold the microphone icon
2. Speak your message
3. Release to send, or drag away to cancel

Playing Audio

Click play on any audio message. The waveform shows playback progress.

Voice features improve accessibility:

• Screen reader support - TTS works with screen readers
• Voice control - Navigate with voice commands
• Large controls - Easy-to-click buttons
