iOS App

The Chatelope iOS app provides full access to your AI conversations on iPhone and iPad.

Requirements

• iOS 14.0 or higher
• iPadOS 14.0 or higher
• 100MB free storage
• Internet connection (for sync)

Installation

App Store

1. Open App Store
2. Search "Chatelope"
3. Tap Get
4. Authenticate with Face ID/Touch ID
5. Open after installation

TestFlight (Beta)

For early access:

1. Install TestFlight from App Store
2. Open TestFlight invite link
3. Tap Accept
4. Install Chatelope beta

Setup

First Launch

1. Open Chatelope
2. Choose Sign In or Connect to Server
3. Sign in with your account
4. Allow notifications (recommended)
5. Wait for initial sync

iCloud Sync

Enable iCloud sync:

1. Go to Settings > Sync
2. Enable iCloud Sync
3. Data syncs across Apple devices

Server Connection

If self-hosting:

1. Tap Connect to Server
2. Enter your server URL
3. Sign in with your account

Add home screen widgets:

1. Long-press home screen
2. Tap + button
3. Search Chatelope
4. Choose widget size
5. Add to home screen

Widget sizes:

• Small - Quick search
• Medium - Recent conversations
• Large - Conversations with preview

Shortcuts

Create Siri Shortcuts:

1. Open Shortcuts app
2. Tap + for new shortcut
3. Add Chatelope actions
4. Save and trigger with Siri

Available actions:

• Start new chat
• Search conversations
• Open specific folder

Share Sheet

Share to Chatelope:

1. Select content in any app
2. Tap Share
3. Choose Chatelope
4. Add to conversation

Voice Input

Use iOS dictation:

1. Tap microphone in keyboard
2. Speak your message
3. Text appears automatically
4. Edit and send

iPad Features

Split View

Use alongside other apps:

1. Open Chatelope
2. Swipe up for dock
3. Drag another app to side
4. Resize as needed

Slide Over

Quick access in slide over:

1. Swipe from right edge
2. Chatelope appears in overlay
3. Dismiss when done

Keyboard Support

Full keyboard navigation:

Handwriting support:

• Write in text fields
• Scribble converts to text
• Works in search and chat

Privacy

App Privacy

Chatelope privacy:

• Data stays on device
• No tracking or analytics
• Network only for sync/API

Permissions

Manage in Settings > Chatelope.

Face ID / Touch ID

Secure app access:

1. Go to Settings > Security
2. Enable Require Face ID
3. App locks when closed

Storage

iCloud Storage

If using iCloud sync:

• Check iCloud storage usage
• Attachments count toward quota
• Manage in Settings > iCloud

On-Device Storage

Manage local storage:

1. Go to Settings > Storage
2. View breakdown
3. Clear cache
4. Manage offline files

Troubleshooting

Sync Issues

If sync isn't working:

1. Check internet connection
2. Verify iCloud is signed in
3. Check iCloud storage space
4. Try manual sync

App Freezing

If the app freezes:

1. Force close and reopen
2. Restart device
3. Check for updates
4. Reinstall if needed

Notifications Not Working

If notifications don't appear:

1. Check Settings > Notifications
2. Ensure Chatelope is allowed
3. Check Focus mode settings
4. Verify in-app settings

Updates

Auto Updates

Enable in Settings:

1. Open Settings
2. Go to App Store
3. Enable automatic updates

Check for Updates

Manual update check:

1. Open App Store
2. Tap profile icon
3. Pull down to refresh
4. Update if available
